Golden Dog Warmies is a plush comfort toy filled with natural grains and dried French lavender, weighing 1.5 lb and measuring 8" x 6" x 13".
- Gently weighted plush, 1.5 lb: Held against the body, the mass is felt as deep touch pressure, associated with reduced anxiety across the weighted class at heavier weights.
- Microwavable for warmth: The warmed grain fill may help support comfort against a sore or cramping area, as studied for menstrual pain.
- Chillable for cool relief: The same fill can be frozen instead, drawing heat away from the skin.
- Dried French lavender in the fill: Aroma releases passively while the item is held, and inhaled lavender is associated with lower anxiety in anxious adults.
- Child-safe construction: It meets U.S. consumer safety standards, carries no device classification, and suits both children and adults.
This product is not designed as a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat sleep problems, anxiety, or period pain. Its grain fill and lavender give it a function beyond a plush toy, though it has not been directly tested. The research used heavier full-body blankets and measured lavender oil. She's beautiful!
I purchased Abby and Cookie Monster for my granddaughter. My granddaughter opened the box, and after pulling out Cookie Monster and giving him the most appropriate hug and expressing her love, she pulled out Abby. She grabbed Abby, and her eyes got big as she held Abby at arm's length. Then I hear, "She's beautiful! I love her". My heart melts every time I see her open a box. They aren't the first Warmies, and definitely not the last.

Who is FrontrowMD?
FrontrowMD is an independent, third-party platform on a mission to make it easier to discover health products you can trust.
Here’s how: first, we make it easy for clinicians to share discounts on their own selection of health products to help their patients. We often hear that our clinician partners are worried about patients spending their hard-earned money on products that may not be best for them.
Then, we digitally track which products our clinicians include on their patient discount pages and display that data to you, verifying that medical experts are choosing to share this product and making it easier to discover the right product for you.
Who / how many clinicians share this?
Clinicians sharing this product include doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician associates. Right now, 570 clinicians are including this product on their personalized patient discounts page, out of hundreds of product options.
Group practices often request to collaborate on one page instead of setting up separate free pages (this way, it’s easier for patients at a medical practice to shop through a single page).
Below, you can see the names of clinicians or practices sharing this product, including how many clinicians chose to collaborate at that practice to sum up the total number of clinicians sharing this product.
What does “share” mean?
Clinicians have the choice to add / remove any health product (either individually, or often in bulk) to their patient discounts pages whenever they would like.
Therefore, FrontrowMD defines a product as being “shared” if that specific product is included in their personalized page which they may choose to share with patients through a unique URL, regardless of the number of products they keep / remove, how thoroughly they review each product, and the number of patients who choose to visit these pages.
This is different than a clinician recommending or “prescribing” this product to an individual patient, which clinicians are often less comfortable doing because of liability concerns — clinicians instead often appreciate being able to choose to share a product on their page that is broadly available to all patients.
When you click on 'Preview' below, you’ll be taken to a filtered view of those clinicians’ personalized pages, so you can confirm they included this product. While there, you can even download the clinician on-boarding form they submitted by clicking ‘Confirm’ in the full list of clinicians. Only patients of these clinicians can shop on that page.
Are clinicians paid to do this?
No — clinicians are never compensated. This is a free platform for clinicians and patients. These clinicians include products on their personalized discounts pages, which you can preview below, to benefit their patients.

How It Works
Research on the weighted class used full-body blankets at greater or unreported weights. This product delivers 1.5 lb as a held object, and specific evidence at these parameters is still emerging.
- May help support a sense of calm: In pooled weighted-blanket studies of people with diagnosed psychiatric conditions, treated as inpatients and outpatients, anxiety symptoms significantly improved against placebo. A second synthesis in patients with diagnosed mental disorders found that anxiety modestly improved. In hospitalized adults with anorexia nervosa or avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder and moderate baseline anxiety, the reduction did not reach significance. Research on inhaled lavender essential oil in anxious adults is associated with significantly lower anxiety. This product holds unmeasured dried lavender rather than a measured oil dose.
- May help support comfort during a stressful wait: In adults awaiting elective surgery, a warm weighted blanket significantly lowered anxiety before the procedure, with no significant change in pain.
- May be built into a bedtime wind-down: In children aged 5 to 16 with autism and severe sleep problems, a weighted blanket produced no significant change in sleep. That covered total sleep time, time to fall asleep, and night wakings. Pooled insomnia results in adults with diagnosed mental disorders were also not statistically significant. Inhalation aromatherapy was effective for sleep problems including insomnia, with lavender strongest among single oils. Research on bedtime routines in young children shows significant improvements in settling and night wakings, but it tests the routine rather than any object.
- May offer an object children accept and return to: In that same pediatric trial, children and parents favored the weighted blanket and tolerated it well, a preference measure rather than a sleep outcome. In hospitalized children aged 1 to 12, a different comfort toy significantly reduced anxiety during a breathing treatment, in related testing of comfort objects.
- May help support comfort from menstrual cramps: In women with primary dysmenorrhea, around 22 years old, applied heat significantly reduced menstrual pain against no treatment, and matched anti-inflammatory medication for relief. That research used sustained heat at controlled temperatures rather than this product's brief warmth, so specific evidence at these parameters is still emerging. Journal of Psychiatr... +10

This is a non-powered comfort item used against the outside of the body, with nothing ingested or absorbed. Across randomized trials of weighted blankets in patients with diagnosed mental disorders, no serious adverse events were reported. The meaningful risk comes from the other half of how the product is used. It is heated in a microwave before contact, and heat applied to skin can injure it.
- Burns from an overheated item: Reviews of burn admissions attribute injuries to household heating devices, including microwave-heated grain bags. The burned area is usually small, but these injuries frequently reach the deeper layers of skin, and many require surgery. Burns damage the skin's protective barrier and can lead to blistering, scarring, and infection. These injuries are described as largely preventable, and overheating beyond the labeled heating time and wattage is the documented mechanism. People who cannot sense temperature changes normally are at particular risk. Burns are a recognized complication of losing the pain signal that would prompt someone to pull away. For regular-size Warmies, the manufacturer instructs users to heat for 90 seconds in a 600–800 W microwave or 60 seconds in an 850–1000 W microwave. The product should be clean and dry, the microwave turntable should rotate freely, and the sewn-in product instructions should be followed for the specific item
- Before use: Discuss this device with your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have reduced skin sensation, impaired circulation, fragile or broken skin, or a condition that limits your ability to move away or to communicate discomfort.
The manufacturer describes the product as suitable for all ages, but its care instructions state that heatable Warmies should be heated and used under careful adult supervision. “Safe for all ages” should therefore not be interpreted as meaning a young child should independently microwave, reheat, or use the heated product without supervision. Stop use and seek medical attention if you experience skin injury at the site of contact or any unexpected or persistent symptoms. This document is a review of published scientific literature regarding the technology used in this device. It is not individualized medical advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare provider. This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Complementary Therap... +3

This product combines four separate mechanisms, each with its own research base. They are described one at a time below. A finding for one does not carry over to another.
Deep pressure (1.5 lb static mass)
- Broadly spread weight is felt as deep touch pressure: Deep touch pressure is steady, evenly distributed force against the skin, like a firm hug. One controlled study gave healthy adults a weighted vest and blanket before a stressful dental procedure. Deep pressure significantly lowered their heart rate and shifted heart rate variability toward the calming branch of the nervous system. Heart rate variability is the beat-to-beat variation used to read that balance. The study used a weighted vest and a full blanket, not a small held object. Specific evidence at this product's 1.5 lb is still emerging.
- Pressure that feels like being held rather than pressed: Imaging work in healthy adults found that slow, even pressure is rated as pleasant and calming. It also activates brain regions largely shared with gentle affectionate touch. The weighted-blanket trial in adults with chronic pain reached a similar reading. It proposed that the benefit arises from interoceptive effects together with social or affective ones. Interoceptive means the sense of the body's own internal state, rather than a pain-blocking effect.
- May offer steady pressure without any active component: A review of the weighted-blanket literature states that the mechanism of action still requires investigation. Research on this class is associated with reduced anxiety in patients with diagnosed psychiatric conditions.
- Mass is the parameter that governs the dose: Research on weighted blankets showed significantly greater reductions in perceived chronic pain at 15 lb than at 5 lb. This product delivers 1.5 lb as a held object rather than a whole-body cover, and specific evidence at this mass is still emerging.
- The input lasts only while the item is held: The mass is static and produces nothing once the item is set down. Studies in this class applied pressure across the whole body for periods ranging from a few minutes to overnight.
Applied warmth (microwave-heated grain fill)
- Heat is stored before use rather than produced by the product: The grain fill takes on energy in the microwave and then releases it slowly against the body. The product is non-powered, so the available warmth is limited to what the fill holds and declines as it cools.
- Warming the skin widens surface blood vessels: Local warming widens the small blood vessels in the skin and raises the blood flow through it.
- Local warming works separately from whole-body warming: The blood-flow response to a warm object on one patch of skin is driven locally. It comes from the nerves and signals in that skin rather than from a change in core body temperature. That is why a small warmed item can feel comforting without warming the person overall.
- Warmth registers as comfort through skin temperature sensors: In related thermal testing, comfort in healthy adults tracked the direction and rate of skin temperature change rather than temperature alone. That testing warmed the whole body rather than one patch of skin. Participants reliably identified the point at which warmth stopped feeling comfortable. No surface temperature is specified for this product, so where it sits relative to that boundary is not established.
- Warmth and weight delivered together in one object: In adults awaiting elective surgery, a warm weighted blanket significantly lowered anxiety before the procedure. That trial combined warmth and weight, so its result cannot be attributed to either one alone.
- A soft pack that holds heat against the body: Reviews of superficial heat count soft heated packs filled with grain among heat treatments. In adults with low back pain, heat wrap therapy significantly reduced pain over five days. Those trials used sustained wraps rather than a briefly warmed plush. A review of superficial heat describes its effects as working through widened blood vessels, improved microcirculation, and muscle relaxation.
- Any thermal effect is time-limited: The warmed fill cools toward room temperature, so warmth acts only while a temperature difference remains between the item and the skin.
Applied cold (freezer-chilled)
- The same product fill can be chilled instead of warmed: Placing the item in a freezer cools the grain fill, which then draws heat away from the skin on contact.
- Cooling the skin narrows surface blood vessels: Local cooling of the skin reduces the blood flow through it. That is the mirror of the local warming response, driven by the same surface sensing system.
- Cooling one area does not cool the whole body: As with warming, the response to a chilled object against one patch of skin is local. It is driven by the vessels and nerves in that area rather than by a change in core body temperature.
- Cold registers through its own set of skin sensors: Skin carries separate sensors for warmth and for cold, so comfort depends on the direction and rate of temperature change. In related whole-body thermal testing, the comfortable range sat higher during cooling than during warming. The same surface temperature can therefore feel different depending on whether the skin is warming or cooling.
- Cooling is time-limited in the same way as warming: The chilled fill returns toward room temperature, so any cooling acts only while a temperature difference remains.
- A cooling option offered alongside the warming one: A review of superficial heat and cold found insufficient evidence to evaluate cold for low back pain, and drew no conclusions about it. Research on chilled comfort objects for everyday calm is not available in the published literature. What can be described here is the skin-level response to cooling.
Lavender aroma (dried French lavender in the fill)
- The scent comes from dried botanical material rather than an applied oil: Dried French lavender inside the fill releases aroma compounds into the air around the item. The lavender content is not specified for this product, so a user's exposure cannot be characterized here.
- A scent released passively while the item is held: A synthesis of randomized trials found that inhaled lavender essential oil significantly reduced anxiety on validated scales. Those trials covered adults who were anxious or facing stressful situations. The same synthesis found no significant effect on systolic blood pressure.
- A mechanism that acts through smell rather than touch: A separate meta-analysis of lavender aromatherapy trials found significant reductions in self-rated anxiety. It also found lower heart rate and lower salivary cortisol, a hormone that rises with stress. Those trials covered people with and without clinical anxiety in healthcare settings.
- Unmeasured dried botanical material inside a sealed plush: Research on lavender essential oil delivered by inhalation at measured doses showed reduced anxiety. This product holds dried material at an unstated content, so specific evidence at these parameters is still emerging.
- Aroma strength that cannot be set or measured by the user: The same synthesis reports that most included trials carried a high overall risk of bias. It also reports that the inhalation results varied widely between trials. The authors read this as an indication of an effect rather than a settled one.
- An aroma that carries through a whole night of use: Inhalation aromatherapy was effective for sleep problems including insomnia, and lavender showed the greatest effect among single oils. The reviewed effects increased as the number of sessions increased.
- One object carrying four independent mechanisms: Pressure, warmth, cooling, and aroma each have separate research bases, and a finding in one does not transfer to another. The American Journal... +13

Gentle warmth and weight from a plush help comfort children
I recommend Warmies Stuffed Animals for parents who want a simple way to help comfort their child after a busy day or when normal body aches from growing show up. The plush can be heated slightly and held against sore muscles, providing gentle heat that may help ease tension and discomfort. Heat can help ease muscle soreness, with the greatest relief often appearing within the first day of use, though most research has been on adults. The Warmies are also weighted to promote a sense of calm in children who respond well to sensory input like this. For kids who enjoy the reassurance of a soft toy, this can be a practical and calming way to approach minor aches or occasional fussiness.

a stuffy that doubles as a warm compress or a warm cuddle buddy
We had one of these given to use during a baby shower a few years ago. We ended up acquiring another because my child and wife don't always like to share. It's meant to be warmed in the microwave, rested on the lower belly, and should stay warm for a while. Research supports warmth as something that can help women feel better during their period. The plush is also filled with dried lavender, and inhaled lavender essential oil has been studied for calming effects in adults, so the scent may also be helpful while you rest. The plush can also be chilled in the freezer if cool feels better that day. Altogether, it can be a comforting option at home, especially for women around their cycle.

FAQs
Who is behind ClinicianAI?
ClinicianAI is offered by FrontrowMD (the team pictured above!). We are an independent 3rd party on a mission to improve how people shop for their healthcare by bringing medical expertise right where you shop.
We partner with thousands of clinicians to make it easy to share wellness products with patients and write about why. We then power ClinicianAI with these medical expert opinions to answer your personalized questions!
Who are these clinicians that are powering ClinicianAI?
ClinicianAI is trained / overseen by FrontrowMD's team of 3 independent clinicians unaffiliated with Warmies. ClinicianAI is also able to reference the product reviews from other clinicians who received a sample of the product and wrote about why they do/don't like sharing it with their own patients to help answer your questions.
The independent evaluators are:
- Dr. Landon Green, a board-certified Family Medicine (NPI #: 1841851185)
- Dr. Salma Green, a board-certified Family Medicine (NPI #: 1003301417)
- Dr. Shani Alam, a board-certified Psychiatry (NPI #: 1659465516)
These doctors have decades of combined medical experience, each with additional hands-on experience and a passion for functional / holistic wellness.
These doctors are paid by FrontrowMD an hourly rate for their time to study research on each ingredient of these products and train ClinicianAI on how to best respond to shopper questions.
How are ClinicianAI and Warmies related?
Warmies pays FrontrowMD a monthly fee to give their shoppers free access to our product: ClinicianAI.
We at FrontrowMD pay an independent Medical Advisory Board to deeply analyze the research and science behind Warmies's product to power ClinicianAI's responses. We also partner with thousands of clinicians outside of our Board some of whom have written detailed reviews of Warmies's product (without being paid to do so), which ClinicianAI also references to answer your questions.
This means when you chat with ClinicianAI, it's summarizing the analysis of real doctors (vs. giving you an "AI analysis" like if you asked the same question to ChatGPT!).
Most importantly, Warmies never gets to edit or revise any of this independent Board's analysis (or other clinician reviews) and they must publish even detailed negative reviews of their product if featuring any reviews at all.
This means that while Warmies is paying for you to have free access to ClinicianAI, its analysis is independent from the company, and Warmies is ready to put their product through the rigorous analysis of real experts.
How is ClinicianAI better than ChatGPT?
Short answer: ClinicianAI leverages the analysis of unbiased clinicians to respond to your questions, while ChatGPT answers with its own AI opinions.
Here's how ClinicianAI works to give you even better responses than ChatGPT:
01 | Our team of doctors unaffiliated with Warmies analyzes vast amounts of relevant medical research on every ingredient in this product — this means ClinicianAI has instant access to high quality research (vs. ChatGPT having to find and likely miss out on relevant literature).
02 | These doctors write a long summary about research outcomes and how the science works for each ingredient, along with their opinions on this products across a range of criteria — this means ClinicianAI's opinions reflect that of medical experts who've spent time studying this formula vs. ChatGPT giving you its AI generated opinion.
03 | ClinicianAI also learns from and references detailed reviews written by other clinicians who receive samples of these products and discounts for their patients, but are never paid to share their opinions, which is proprietary content only ClinicianAI can leverage to inform even sharper responses.
ClinicianAI is built on top of "large language models" (like a ChatGPT) but because it's trained / has access to proprietary data and analyses from independent clinicians, it can offer much deeper responses than any other general AI tool.
Is my data kept private and HIPAA protected?
Yes — most importantly because we don't know who you are! For example, when you ask ChatGPT questions you're often logged into a user profile. When you ask personalized questions to ClinicianAI, we don't know any identifying information about you (like your name, email, etc.!).
Warmies may get access to all questions shoppers have asked so they can learn more about what their shoppers are curious about, but that will naturally be anonymized because we don't have any of that identifying information.
If you ask a question outside of ClinicianAI's parameters (like about shipping times, etc.) we may ask for your email for Warmies's customer success team to reach out, but that's always optional and usually not for health related questions.
All together, we encourage you to ask personalized health questions with ClinicianAI because each unique person may react differently to a product, and because we follow strict data privacy and HIPAA compliance guidelines even while not asking for identifying information.
What are the kinds of questions I can ask ClinicianAI?
Anything about whether the ingredients in this product could be safe and effective for you! That's ClinicianAI's super power: leveraging a vast database of research and medical expert opinions to be the first clinician-powered AI shopping assistant right where you shop.
The more personalized the question, the better! Research often finds that many ingredients can be good for some people, and not as safe or effective for others. That's why we built this to be a truly personalized shopping assistant.
